Children are free of charge until the age of three. Children ticket prices apply to all children 3 to 14 years of age. At 15 years, an adult or student ticket can be purchased (student discount entry requires presentation of a valid student identification card).

Australia Zoo is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Some of our gorgeous animals go to bed at 4:30pm.

Australia Zoo is open 364 days a year. We close on Christmas Day – 25th December.

Any valid international student, seniors or pension card can be used to receive the discounted entry price.

Valid Australian companion card holders receive a free entry for their carer.

Australia Zoo tickets include entry to Australia Zoo from 9am-5pm. Tickets include all of our action-packed wildlife shows throughout the day, plus children’s activities, including a giant jumping pillow*, the Laughing Frog Waterpark. We also offer a free shuttle service at the Zoo for your convenience.

Australia Zoo does not offer Afterpay or Zip Pay services.

With over 110 acres of gorgeous Zoo grounds, we have plenty of room to welcome all guests to Australia Zoo. We won’t sell out of tickets.

To honour the work of our current service personnel, Australia Zoo offers the following discounts 364 days a year for Emergency Services Personnel when they show their valid ID card:

• All state and territory Police Service – this includes all Police Officers and Federal Police, with valid government issued ID – Free of Charge

• Queensland Police Service – this includes IT and Admin, with valid government issued ID, must have QPS on ID badge – Free of Charge

• All state and territory Ambulance / Paramedic Personnel, with valid government issued ID – Free of Charge

• All state and territory Fire Personnel, this includes Rural Firefighters, with valid government issued ID – Free of Charge

• Queensland correctional services with valid government issued ID – Free of Charge

• 20% discount for DEFCOM cardholders

To receive these discounts, current identification must be shown on entry. These discounts only apply to the service member.

To honour the work of our Australian Defence Force, Australia Zoo offers a 50% discount to:

• Current Australian Defence Force members
• Australian Defence Force spouses
• Australian War Veterans and War Veteran spouses

Current international Defence Force personnel receive a 10% discount on tickets.

To receive these discounts, current identification must be produced on entry.

Defence and Emergency Service personnel discounts do not extend to family, with the exception of Australian Defence Force, Australian War Veteran and War Veteran spouses, who receive a 50% discount when appropriate identification is provided.

Australia Zoo offers the same price on our website as we do in person at Australia Zoo.

On your next visit, enter via our Annual Membership booth and show photo identification so we can take your photo and print your membership card.

If you have purchased a one or two-day ticket to Australia Zoo, you can upgrade your ticket to an annual pass for $89. Visit the Information Desk or Admissions Gate before you leave the Zoo to upgrade.

Absolutely! Please enter via our Annual Members or Prepaid Tickets booths at Admissions and provide your details to the Admissions team.

Tickets purchases through Australia Zoo do not require you to specify a date of visit. Tickets bought through the Australia Zoo website do not have an expiry date.

Guests are welcome to bring their own food into the Zoo. Please refrain from bringing glass, alcoholic beverages or plastic straws.

For the safety of our animals and guests, we prohibit the use of flying and throwing objects within the Zoo grounds. This includes drones, balloons, kites, balls and frisbees.

While Australia Zoo is spread across 110 acres of on-display habitats, our free shuttle service can transport you directly out to the Africa savannah.  Please also see later question: “Can I hire a pram, pull-along cart, wheelchair or motorised scooter?”

Absolutely! Visit our friendly team at group bookings at Booth 1 at Admissions.

Rain, hail or shine Australia Zoo will be open and all regular Zoo activities will run as per normal.

You can keep updated on the weather around Australia Zoo by visiting the Bureau of Meteorology and referring to the Sunshine Coast weather forecast.

Sun protection including hats and sunscreen, and rain protection such as umbrellas and rain ponchos are available for purchase.

No bikes, scooters or shoes with inserted wheels are permitted inside the Zoo grounds.

Pram: $30 per day

Pull Along Cart: $35 per day

Wheelchair: $35 per day $30 with pension discount

Mobility Scooter: $70 per day (weight limit 135kg and minimum age 18) $65 with pension discount
In the event of poor weather conditions scooter hire will be converted to wheelchair

The Zoo is fully wheelchair accessible, including a lift and ramp to our Crikey Cafe and wheelchair viewing of the Crocoseum.

Absolutely! Our friendly shuttles team can assist you with loading these items onto the shuttle service. Unfortunately, mobility scooters are not able to be put on the shuttles.

Parking at Australia Zoo is free, with hundreds car parks to cater for large numbers of visitors.

Across the 110 acres of Australia Zoo, there are plenty of shaded rest stops allowing you to take a break, before continuing your Zoo adventure.

We have parents’ rooms located throughout the Zoo. The rooms nearby the Information Desk are equipped with free microwave facilities.

We have two smoking areas. Please refer to your Zoo map on entry and look for the signs. We ask that guests refrain from smoking outside of these areas.

We have locker hire for your convenience, located near the entrance. There is a variety of sizes to suit your storage needs. Payment options include Eftpos or cash.

Our gift shops sell a range of basic medications and personal products.

At Australia Zoo we try our best to locate all lost property. If you think you’ve lost something during your visit, please phone +61 7 5436 2000 or visit our Information Desk.

Domestic pets cannot be brought into the Zoo.

If you or a member of your group would like to bring a Guide or Assistance Dog to the Zoo, please contact us on 5436 2000 or info@australiazoo.com.au so we can discuss how to best facilitate your day with us. We appreciate you contacting us at least 72 hours prior to your visit.

Our Crikey Cafe offers a range of vegan, gluten free and other dietary requirement options. All foods are marked accordingly, but please see a staff member on the day for assistance if required. We currently do not offer halal food options. View our menus here.

We do not have a dedicated prayer room at the Zoo, but there are plenty of beautiful grassed areas throughout the Zoo where a mat can be rolled out for prayer.

The Irwin family live here at Australia Zoo, so be sure to keep an eye out for them in and around the Zoo. On special event days and school holidays, the family often feed the crocs in our world-famous Crocoseum. Check out our Events calendar page for updates!

The Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital $2 sneak peek includes entry into our purpose-built viewing area. You will be able to see the veterinary team and hospital in action as they treat sick, injured and orphaned wildlife.

All proceeds from the $2 sneak peek support the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital and their quest to save our native wildlife.

Absolutely, you can feed the kangaroos at Australia Zoo! You can buy special kangaroo food from selected gift shops and our Information Desk for $3 per bag.

Most of our daily conservation shows run for around 20 minutes, with the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors show running for around 25 to 30 minutes. View information on conservation show timings here.

All year-round guests can cool off in the Laughing Frog Waterpark, including splash area and giant waterfall frog!
