Australian King Parrot
Check out Australia Zoo’s Australian King Parrot!
Grace’s Bird Garden is home to some of the most beautiful birds on the planet, including the gorgeous Australian King Parrot! To see them up close and personal, take a walk through Grace’s Bird Garden and keep your eyes peeled to the trees!
The King Parrot is found all along the east-coast, ranging from the northern part of Queensland to southern Victoria. They typically live in rainforests and can be found foraging for seeds and fruit in the trees.
These birds are quite social and tend to hang out in small groups or couples. The males of the species can be identified by their completely red head. How unique!
Australian King Parrots are found to be increasing in population in well-treed suburbs. They are a species of least concern. Woo-hoo!
