The beautiful Zarraffa was named by Australia Zoo and Wildlife Warriors supporter, Zarraffa’s Coffee. After winning the highest bid at the 2023 Steve Irwin Gala in Brisbane, the team had the opportunity to participate in the annual Crocodile Research Trip and were ecstatic to name her after their own purpose driven organisation. We expect her to provide invaluable insights into female growth and nesting behaviour.

This research is made possible each year with the help of Wildlife Warriors, The University of Queensland and our generous sponsors. The vital program is the longest continuous study of crocodiles in the world and helps us to live alongside them and help them, as a vulnerable Australian species.
