Australia Zoo Exhibits
Here at Australia Zoo, we take great pride in creating exhibits and enclosures that are not only educational, beautiful and exciting for our guests to see and experience, but also extremely luxurious, spacious, stimulating and fun for our animals to live and play in. Here we have just some of the exhibits that we are most proud of. These exhibits are works of art, architectural firsts, 5-star accommodation for our animals and unlike anything in any other zoo around the world. Each one of them is the brainchild of the one and only Steve Irwin; they were conceived in his mind and brought to life by the talented crew of designers, artists, builders and horticulturalists that he hand-picked and supervised. They are his dreams brought to life, and we are extremely proud to present them to you. It is our greatest wish that you will one day see these truly stunning and adventurous exhibits in person… you just won’t believe your eyes!
The Crocoseum
The Crocoseum is the fulfillment of one of Steve Irwin's lifelong dreams. Steve wanted to provide the visitors to Australia Zoo with the opportunity to see crocodiles in clear water ponds, in an action-packed show full of discovery and adventure. This idea was to help educate the public by showing them how crocodiles live and behave in the wild. Steve had a complicated and ambitious vision, and everyone said it couldn’t be done. They were wrong. Visit The Crocoseum
Tiger Temple
The amazing Tiger Temple, built to resemble the famous Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia, is a work of art as well as an architectural first – Tiger Temple boasts the Southern Hemisphere’s only underwater viewing of Tigers. Visit Tiger Temple
Elephantasia
Elephantasia is Australia’s LARGEST Asian Elephant facility. Created in 2006 for Australia Zoo’s beautiful girls Siam, Sabu and Bimbo, this Asian-themed exhibit is truly a work of art. Elephantasia features a large pool with a fountain for the girls to splash around in, a giant statue of Ganesh, the Hindu elephant god feature, lush gardens, and plenty of shade and space for the elephants.
